SYNOPSIS

‘The Endangered Generation?’ takes its audience on a hopeful journey to reconnect with our environment and with each other. Narrated by Laura Dern, the film follows intrepid scientists, activists, artists and First Nations leaders from around the world who, through their research and experiences, show how diversity, collaboration and creativity are the most effective tools for tackling the global challenges threatening our survival. Aiming to remove roadblocks to change, The Endangered Generation? inspires new ways of thinking about the many crises facing our planet. It's a moving, and surprisingly joyous, exploration of who we are and how we relate to our world.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR - CELESTE GEER

Celeste is a documentary director who sets out to find raw moments of courage and beauty in unexpected places. Inspired by the universality of our strengths and frailties, her films celebrate resilience under pressure. In her ABC documentary ‘Then The Wind Changed’ , Celeste documented her own family’s recovery in the aftermath of the devastating  Black Saturday Bushfires alongside the experiences of other members of a close knit community to create a story of heartbreak and survival. The film won the Walkley Award for Best Documentary and the AACTA Award for Best Documentary Under One Hour. She has also worked as a director on broadcast documentaries such as Keeping Australia Alive’  (ABC), ‘Filthy Rich & Homeless (SBS) and ‘Me and My Tourettes’ (SBS).
